Position: DAY CARE DIRECTOR
Reports to: Secondary Director
Minimum Requirements:
bulletBachelor's Degree or Master's Degree and
bulletElementary Education Certificate/License K-3 or
bulletElementary Education Certificate/License PreK-3 or
bulletElementary Principal Certificate/License
bulletExperience in Early Childhood Education preferred
Responsibilities:
bulletWill be responsible for the daily operation of Tri-Rivers Day Care Center
bulletMaintain records for each child enrolled and maintain other records required to meet compliance standards
bulletResponsible for hiring, in-servicing and evaluating day care staff
bulletWork cooperatively with the career-technical Early Childhood Education instructors to plan curriculum, order supplies and equipment
bulletSupervise career tech ECE students in lab
bulletTeach ECE Level 1 students orientation to Day Care Center operations
bulletCommunicate with parents and the community
bulletDevelop and maintain a developmentally appropriate curriculum
bulletAssist in the Day Care Center with daily instructional responsibilities
bulletMaintain an educationally sound physical environment
bulletProvide in-service education for staff
bulletConduct staff appraisals
bulletMaintain complete and up-to-date inventory of resources, equipment, food and supplies
bulletResponsible for obtaining and maintaining state and federal grants according to guidelines
bulletProvide short and long-term planning in Day Care Center
bulletDevelop grant proposals to assist with funding of the center
bulletWork cooperatively with business/industry and local schools to expand the programming in the area
bulletThese duties and all other duties which are necessary to create a proper intellectual and social environment in the school shall be required
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift child up to 60 pounds and height of 4 foot
Work Year: 184-day contract with required summer extended service contract
Salary: Based on certification, degree and related work experience
Starting Date: February 26, 2007
