Healthy Child Care

The Ohio Child Care Resource & Referral Association (OCCRRA), in partnership with the Ohio Department of Health, has developed a program to support child care providers, both center-based and family child care, with health and safety issues.  Healthy Child Care Ohio is a collaborative effort of health care professionals, child care providers and families working in partnership to improve the health of children in child care settings.  It is a national effort of the Healthy Child Care America Campaign is is sponsored by the US Department of Health and Human Services in partnership with the American Academy of Pediatrics.  The campaign is based on the principle that families and child care providers can promote the healthy development of young children in child care, and increase access to preventive health care services, and safe physical environments for children.

Child Care Health Consultants (Registered Nurses) are available in every county across the state of Ohio to assist child care providers with general health and safety issues.
